It must have been during the autumn of 2005 , I was at the age of 25 , I would soon quit scouts and was wondering, "whats next ?" A friend of me told me that he had done some paragliding trips in France and that he found it amazing. So we started looking for a paragliding club nearby and found the Skyeagles (now known as Avia airsport) at only 20 minutes driving from Leuven.
We started with a bi-place flight as try out and I was immediately sold. Then followed by some weekends of heavy ground training the monitor told me that I would do 6 flights that day. First 3 bi-place flights where I could steer and land and next my 3 first solo flights. WOAW, alone in the air.
In the next summer I took my first week mountain paragliding course at some place in France called Dienne, not a great monitor but a beautiful place and a great group. The year after I took another course in France at Saint André Les Alpes. It's along drive but a beautiful place to fly and a great monitor, Olivier I think. It was here that I enjoyed my first great thermal flights of + 1 hour. Now I was started for real...
